LIDL has launched an urgent recall for its Favorina Dip chocolate Easter eggs because they pose a health risk to anyone with a food allergy or intolerance.
The German discount chain ordered the removal of the eggs with a best before date of July 30 2018, because the packaging labels are "unsafe".
The 'dippy' eggs which have a creamy filling, contain milk, gluten, egg, peanut, soya and nuts.
Chocolate fans with an intolerance to those ingredients could be at risk because information on the packaging is not in English.
Blaming a "labelling error", Lidl said:" These products contain milk making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
"They may also pose a risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to cereals containing gluten, egg, peanut, soya and nuts.
"Lidl is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers."
